These Plants Suck

Is your gardening thumb perhaps more the color of dirt then green? No problem.

Succulents are the perfect indoor OR outdoor plant for those of you that want some low maintenance greenery in your lives but aren’t looking for a full time commitment to gardening gloves and a watering can. They don’t like to be watered very often, which makes them ideal for those of you that like to travel or aren’t home often…or for those of you that can’t remember to feed the dog every morning let alone water the plants in your home…

Helpful tip: Make sure the soil is completely dry before you next water your succulents. Depending on the size of your arrangement/pot, you’re probably going to water them once a week at most.

And the best part about these plants? They come in a variety of shapes, sizes, colors and containers so there is a little something for everyone.

There are also plenty of ways to display succulents in your home. Get creative with the vessel you choose and how you showcase these greens.

Here a few of my favs I’ve seen for your viewing pleasure.

Looking to do something a bit more unique? Customize the pot you put them in!

As mentioned in previous posts, a bit o’ paint goes as long way. Have some fun with colors and patterns and use these plants as a way to highlight your style and brighten up your home.

Practical Tip of the Day:

You Are My Sunshine…

If you are trying to keep a succulent alive in a low light, indoor space, although these plants can survive in relatively crowded containers and arrangements in a multitude of enviornments, it is best to keep them potted separately to ensure each plant gets the maximum amount of sunlight possible in your low light room. One plant per pot = perfect.
