Whether you’re giving a five dollar, or a fifty dollar gift, don’t skimp on the wrapping.

Taking time to thoughtfully wrap gifts serves two purposes. The obvious being that your present looks prettier to give to that special someone and can show off your crafty side. Secondly however, the presentation of your present can drastically increase the perceived value and thoughtfulness of your gift…

Take the same approach you do towards entertaining with guests. Those extra finishes touches are what people remember. (Read “Attention to Details” for entertaining inspiration if you haven’t checked it out yet). And don’t’ be afraid to get personal – you know your friends favorite color is yellow? Take the time to wrap your gift accordingly. The bridal shower you are attending is in nautical theme? Find some blue and white and match the party décor!

However you choose to wrap it up, do it with thought & do it with care. And it shouldn’t take more than ten extra minutes out of your day – everyone can find the time. No excuses people!

Here are a few examples of easy but fun wrap jobs. Enjoy!

Practical Tip of the Day:

Always save gift bags, boxes and ribbon from things you are gifted and store them in a safe place. This ensures you always have a stock pile of wrapping options for those last minute gifts that often pop up on us and will save you a rushed trip to the store.

Laurie, great wrapping ideas. Lov the ribbon stored on a hanger, I use a skinny tension rod, that the ribbon spool can slide on. Then I can put it in a drawer, or between a desk and wall, wherever the rod can connect. Then just pull and cut ribbon as needed….
